Gardenia's are my favourite flower - the flower is gorgeous and the scent is divine.
Last year I bought myself my very first gardenia and it recently flowered for the first time!

Summer Sunset :: part 2

We ventured to the back beach again the other night for another Summer Sunset.
 It was very windy again so we didn't stay to watch the sunset completely.
 Happy Summer Days

:: 2011 List ::

I'm a bit of a list junkie. I use lists daily.
I only came to realise how much I rely on lists recently when I posted this post.
I do like lists!
My busy mind has been continuously building a "to-do" list.
There are plenty of things on my list.
There are things that I would like to sew, make, crochet, knit, do, cook,
finish, see, and have-a-go at.
I'm starting to think that this list is getting too long for me to remember everything!
Instead of leaving this list of things floating around in my head I have decided to "publish"
"My 2011 List",

:: My 2011 List ::

*knit myself a cardigan

*finish Abbey's cardigan

*crochet a granny blanket for a friend

*bake more cookies

*make a quilt for a young lad

*sew the girl's new dresses, skirts, and shorts

*finish Evie's granny square blanket

*ride my bike more often

*go on a family holiday

*make more jam

*use the slow cooker regularly

*find some delicious slow cooker recipes

*take a walk to the back beach more often
*watch more sunsets

*sew some dresses for myself from these books

*finish renovating my retro caravan into my craft room
*decorate my craft room/caravan

*grasp and take pleasure in turning 40!

*make time to read more

*buy a new pair of shoes

*teach Abbey how to crochet

* note to self - this list may be added to at anytime and there is no set date that these things be achieved by* (too much pressure is not good for one's state of health or mind).

First pickings of the summer...

Finally ....
Yesterday I picked the first for this "summer" season....there wasn't alot to pick, but it's a start!
We have had strange weather this summer and the vege garden does not seem to be doing as well as last year. The snails and slugs have been having a nice old feast too!
How small are those two tomatoes??
They are very tiny!
There are lots more coming,
I have been feeding them up with lots of good stuff,  we are hoping the next lot picked will be not-so-tiny!!
The squash are doing their thing.
and so are the chillies!
We also have corn, basil, beetroot, lettuce, pumpkin, rocket, snow peas, cucumber, potatoes, and zucchini growing.
The Giant Russian Sunflowers aren't so giant yet!
We need lots of warm sunshine to give everything a big boost!

Trouble with a capital 2!!

Our Little Evie has been a very busy girl.

 Evie is a cheeky little girl and gets into a little bit of mischief every now and then!
 And we wouldn't want her any other way.
We love you EvieShae.

Summer Sunset::part 1::

One summer evening, before the rainy weather arrived, we ventured out for a short walk to our local beach to watch the sunset.
I am so grateful that we live so close to the ocean.
{it's actually Bass Strait}
Can you believe that it is the beginning of January and we had to wear warm clothes as
the wind was a "tad blow-y".
I think we need to do this more often.....

Hook-y-action

I was very excited when the postman finally delivered a little parcel for me last week.
I had been waiting for almost 4 weeks for it to arrive!
What a treasure of a book!
There are so many ideas and new things to try.
I was quite excited and got into some serious hook-y-action almost straight away!!
The choice is endless.
So many shapes and sizes.
And some challenges for me to attempt!
{I still classify myself as a beginner}
 Here is what I have made so far.
Now I need to decide what to do with these pretty little creations!
Here  is where I purchased this book.

A Simple Gift

My dear friend came for a morning tea catch-up and brought along
this gorgeous gift for me!
I love it so much I wanted to share it.
 I love the simplicity of this gift.
I Love the green bottle!
We often gift each other and our kids with something pre-loved or up-cycled.
We both love a bit of thrifty-ness and crafty-ness!
Thank you Meg. x

Cooking up a storm

For Christmas, Evie received a play stove and sink from her Nan and Pop.
Everyday since she has spent time cooking up 'something delicious'!
 Even Abbey has been helping out in 'the kitchen' too!
Evie spends lots of time in 'her kitchen'.
I love watching her roleplay; mixing, cutting, pouring, cooking, chatting away to herself.
I have a little giggle to myself because she is just like her Mumma!
