Our gorgeous, bold, energetic, chatty, busy, shy, independent, creative, jumping, cuddly, playful, always on the go, little 2 year old turned 3 today!
Wow!
It seems like only yesterday we held you in our arms for the very first time!
Since that very first day, you have brought joy and happiness, and so much more into our lives.
Happy 3rd Birthday Evie Shae Matilda.
We love you to the moon & stars and back again!

Weekend
The weather has been chilly and wet, good weather for indoor happenings and not so good for outdoor happenings...(for me anyway)....
I have baked and baked....
Choc Berry muffins
lunch box goodies for the week...
Choc chip and oatmeal slice!
Do you fancy baking this delicious slice? Choc chip & oatmeal slice
I measured out the ingredients for the bread maker to do its' thing...
Wholemeal Bread made by the bread maker
I finally finished this cardi....
I have been watching this patiently...
In between rain showers, this pile of mulch is slowly continuing to be reduced...
(we are about half way through it)
This week I will be getting stuck into spreading this if the rain stays away.
I have also been keeping a very close eye on this little beauty...
This orchid has sentimental value that is growing year by year. My dear MIL gifted this to us on the birth of Evie Shae almost 3 years ago. It was flowering at the time and I vaguely remember (having my post birth/baby brain in action) her saying that it should flower every year for Evie's birthday. Well it hasn't until this year.
I am so pleased!
I hope you have had a nice weekend!

Green Sheep
Do your kids have a favourite bedtime story?
The current favourite bedtime story in our house would definitely be
The current favourite bedtime story in our house would definitely be
"Where Is the Green Sheep" by Mem Fox and Judy Horacek
To add a little something fun and different to this much-loved story, I decided a small prop was needed.
Green Sheep is my very first attempt at a small crocheted creature.
He's a bit squishy and not perfect,
but I think he is just right for a little 2 yr old to hold while we read the story.

The opportunities for finding the Green Sheep around our home are becoming an endless list in my mind.
I know the Green Sheep is going to be an excellent distraction if little Miss Evie is having one of
'those 2 yr old moments'.

My Autumn Vegie Garden
Freshly manured and turned-over soil.
My little helper...
who just loves water!
Seeds selected and sown.
With the current new moon being in the first two weeks it is the best time to sow/plant leafy and fruiting plants. I'm also going to sow some seeds into little pots and start them off in the green house.

Tears of a Child
Bitter are the tears of a child: Sweeten them.
Deep are the thoughts of a child: Quieten them.
Sharp is the grief of a child: Take it from them.
Soft is the heart of a child: Do not harden it.
Pamela Glenconner
Who ran to help me when I fell,
And would some pretty story tell,
Or kiss the place to make it well?
My Mother.

One dress
I managed to photograph Miss Evie wearing one of the dresses that I recently made.
It began with co-operation from a strong willed 2 year old;
Then things changed!
Miss Evie is beginning to not have afternoon sleeps!!
Some days she just needs a little nap to keep her going,
but not everyday as she will be awake until 9:30pm!!
This Mumma enjoys a little reprieve when Miss Evie does have a nap...
Happy weekend to you and yours!

In My Garden
A little pink fairy in gumboots doing a little house-keeping....
A rather large spider...
at the top of the trees and just above my washing line!
Fresh corn cobs...
and cherry tomatoes!
Delicious..
What is happening in your garden??

Cooking up a storm
For Christmas, Evie received a play stove and sink from her Nan and Pop.
Everyday since she has spent time cooking up 'something delicious'!
Even Abbey has been helping out in 'the kitchen' too!
Evie spends lots of time in 'her kitchen'.
I love watching her roleplay; mixing, cutting, pouring, cooking, chatting away to herself.
I have a little giggle to myself because she is just like her Mumma!
